Una cavalcata attraverso i secoli quella del terzo concerto de Il Settembre dell’Accademia, mercoledì 18 settembre (ore 20,30), che propone musiche di Widmann, Mozart e Beethoven e che vede il ritorno a Verona dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, ensemble nato a inizi Novecento, la prima orchestra italiana a dedicarsi esclusivamente al repertorio sinfonico promuovendo prime esecuzioni di importanti capolavori del XX secolo.
Diretta negli anni da straordinarie personalità della scena musicale, da Mahler, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Stravinskij, Hindemith e Toscanini fino alle più illustri bacchette degli ultimi anni, l’Orchestra di Santa Cecilia vedrà sul podio del Teatro Filarmonico Gianandrea Noseda, che con oltre cento orchestre dirette è riconosciuto come uno dei più importanti direttori d’orchestra della sua generazione. Protagonisti insieme al direttore milanese due giovani e affermati pianisti: il canadese Jan Lisiecki e lo svizzero-italiano Francesco Piemontesi.
In programma l’ouverture da concerto “Con Brio” del 2008, vibrante omaggio alla Settima Sinfonia di Beethoven del compositore tedesco Jörg Widmann, il Concerto per due pianoforti e orchestra in mi bemolle maggiore KV 365 di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart e la Quinta sinfonia in do minore Op. 67 di Ludwig van Beethoven con quello che è forse l’incipit sinfonico più famoso al mondo, drammatica pagina musicale, secondo le parole dello stesso compositore di Bonn rappresentazione sonora del “destino che bussa alla porta”.

A ride through the centuries for the third concert of the Il Settembre dell’Accademia, wednesday 18 september (8:30 pm), which offers music by Widmann, Mozart and Beethoven and which sees the return to Verona of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, an ensemble born in the early twentieth century, the first Italian orchestra to dedicate itself exclusively to the symphonic repertoire promoting first performances of important masterpieces of the twentieth century.
Directed over the years by extraordinary personalities of the musical scene, from Mahler, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Stravinsky, Hindemith and Toscanini up to the most illustrious conductors of recent years, the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia will see on the podium of the Teatro Filarmonico Gianandrea Noseda, who with over one hundred orchestras conducted is recognized as one of the most important conductors of his generation. Protagonists together with the Milanese conductor are two young and established pianists: the Canadian Jan Lisiecki and the Swiss-Italian Francesco Piemontesi.
The programme includes the 2008 concert overture “Con Brio”, a vibrant homage to Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony by the German composer Jörg Widmann, the Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in E flat major KV 365” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Fifth Symphony in C minor Op. 67 by Ludwig van Beethoven with what is perhaps the most famous symphonic incipit in the world, a dramatic musical page which, in the words of the Bonn composer himself, is a sound representation of “destiny knocking at the door”.
